Enjoy my portfolio and I look forward to connecting with you.
CHALLENGE: Learners disliked boring read and click eLearnings. They wanted engaged learning experiences.
SOLUTION: Create gamified quizzes and memory games. When a scoring component is added, these can easily become breakout room activities.
FEATURED:
CHALLENGE: When employees lost devices, fell for phishing scams, and wrote code that was easily hacked, cyber security became a priority for this company. They needed to attack the issue head on and deploy learning quickly, but it also needed to be relevant.
SOLUTION: We learn best from our mistakes, so I presented a collection of eLearnings and videos telling stories from real situations. The scenarios contained "good, better, and best" solutions and practice tasks to detect scams.
CHALLENGE: An IT project team had been prepping to roll out a new warehouse management system to 200+ store locations. When the pandemic hit, in-person training was no longer on an option.
SOLUTION: Train a select group of Power Users in each territory with “take the wheel” virtual sessions. They would act as a resource for the stores. Store employees would also get a comprehensive eLearning curriculum, micro-learning videos, scenarios, simulations, and a matching step-by-step User Guide.
CHALLENGE: No one in this customer service team was reading the quarterly update emails. People complained about not knowing what was going on, didn’t want changes, and said they had no time to read long emails or attend boring meetings.
SOLUTION: A series of micro-learning videos that were quick, to the point, and featured new changes. These addressed common questions, complaints, short-cuts, tips, and tricks. Management was overwhelmed by the positive feedback.
CHALLENGE: After new employees completed orientation, they needed extra time and care setting up their new technology. This took valuable production time away from their manager and co-workers. Often, they got incorrect or incomplete information.
SOLUTION: Create "how to" videos showing specific steps needed to connect and start work. The explainer videos could be played, paused to copy the action, and replayed. Steps remained complete, correct, and sustainable for every employee, saving time.
CHALLENGE: Learners wanted to know how to use software, but there was no training environment. Management didn't want them practicing with live data.
SOLUTION: Create an eLearning simulation where learners receive small pieces of instruction, then do the actions themselves, giving them a realistic feeling of working in the software without jeopardizing any live data.
BONUS - At the end of this short video is an "under the hood" peek at the tools used to create this simulation.
I'm an Instructional Design professional with 10 years experience and expertise in training program management, eLearnings, explainer videos, interactive simulations, gamified quizzes, written guides, and virtual / classroom delivery. This includes influencing and coaching business leaders on effective learning strategies, change management, and business impact.
My story began many years ago when I was a Mortgage Underwriter. Crazy, right? I explored new ways to simplify the job, do it better and shared that with others. Before l knew it, I was training, receiving awards, and I loved it. My creativity and love of learning continues to lead me towards new technology and methods of learning.
I’m best known for being an award-winning training developer, highly organized, and a trusted “go to” person. That's because I'm naturally curious and thrill in being a life-long learner. I can be introspective while gathering new ideas, discovering new approaches, considering new concepts, and applying new technologies. I do have high expectations for quality and quantity in myself and others with a constant drive for achievement. Interactions with friends and colleagues hold deep meaning because I see their talents and strengths even when they don't. You could say my super-power is maximizing potential through educational development.
I have worked with Stephanie a couple of times and each time she has consistently delivered well above expectations. She jumps in with both feet and provides a level of CALM expertise to keep things moving forward. She understands STRATEGIC partnerships and adds value beyond her role. On top of that, she is a bright personality with a POSITIVE outlook. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity for us to work together again!
Steff and I partnered on a project to build a formal on-boarding program for new hire underwriters. The content Steff created was SUPERIOR to anything we had produced prior to her involvement. I was on site with her during the on-boarding class and her facilitation of the content resulted in the highest feedback scores we had ever received. I learned so much from her during that time frame especially in regards to her ability to assess LEARNING STYLES of the participants and to CUSTOMIZE her communication to best suit each individual participant.
Stephanie... was a diligent L&D professional. Her rich mortgage background coupled with her LISTENING skills allowed for the efficient flow of information and ideas which created the foundation for INSIGHTFUL problem solving and targeted learning modules. Her ideas were thoughtful, and her LEADERSHIP skills enabled the Underwriting team to navigate and adapt to the ever-changing environment... Stephanie’s leadership, organization, ideas, and loyal work ethic would make a powerful addition to any team.
Stephanie and I worked together at Capital One Home Loans. She led & managed the education and training of our associates. I was a manager who worked with her closely in continuing education for underwriting as well as new hire training. Stephanie was an EXPERT in the training world. She was able to help me keep the underwriters on top of the ever-changing mortgage process and used excellent strategies to keep them ENGAGED and eager to learn. I really appreciate her work and talent that went into building and LEADING THE EDUCATION for our department.
Stephanie has been one of my favorite people to work with... She is a DYNAMIC combination of depth of knowledge and capability with just being a JOY to be around. Stephanie will make you feel ENGAGED while making sure that the goal at hand is completed in a quick and timely manner. She is a subject matter expert that can not only apply the knowledge but also teach it. Any organization would be bettered by having her on the team.
During Steff's time as LEAD, she fully met my expectations and then some. Her adaptability and drive to deliver excellent results makes her my GO-TO PERSON for complex or difficult projects because I know what she is capable of and what she brings to the table. Her growth... has been fantastic to see. Her versatility makes her INVALUABLE TO OUR TEAM... delivering high-quality training and documentation and delighting every customer with whom she has worked. She regularly wins awards and recognition for her work and was even selected as the Residential IT MVP for Q3 this year.
I bring valuable insight and a fresh approach enriching your employee & customer learning experience.
